            The motto of NSS is 'NOT ME BUT YOU'. This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings.

About Scheme

            It is community service program sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.National Service Scheme is a student centred programme and it is complementary to education. It is a noble experiment in academic extension. It inculcates the spirit of voluntary work among students and teachers through sustained community interaction. It brings our academic institutions closer to the society. It is a link between the campus and community, the college and village, knowledge and action.  The overall aim of NSS is the Personality Development of students through community service. It gives an extension dimension to Higher Education system and orients the student youth to community service.

Objectives of NSS

  1. Understand the community in which they work.
  2. Understand themselves in relation to their community.
  3. Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.
  4. Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
  5. Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems.
  6. Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.
  7. Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
  8. Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
  9. Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.
  10. Practice national integration and social harmony.

 

Outcome

  1. NSS Department have blood donors index and it is updated by every year.
  2. NSS Department has completed various types Sociao-Economic works like Campus Cleaning, construction of channel in village.
  3. NSS Department has organized health check-up camp in adopted villages and provide medicine to villagers.
  4. NSS Department has taking initiative for Nation building through 200 volunteers per year by organising the camp in village.
  5. NSS Department has taking initiative to enhance the greenery in college premises,  Bramhapuri town and nearby villages by tree plantation.
  6. Animal check-up Camp organized in villages to reduce the laborious work and save time of farmer.
  7. Cleanliness drive organized in town and village to keep the healthy and fruitful environment.
  8. Villages and localities are aware about Aids disease, Yoga Exercise, Benefits of Cashless transaction, Advance technique of farming and various government scheme for farmer through NSS organised camp.
